The only thing holding him back from running the school cross-country was not having sneakers.
Thanks to the Nike shoes, Mark was able to lace up & participate in cross-country.

“Feeling Human”
As an organisation working at the centre of many complex challenges, we often meet young people from less fortunate backgrounds who arrive without basic hygiene items or who are repeatedly wearing the same clothing. For us, it is essential that every young person feels seen, heard, and safe—knowing they can attend our programs without shame or fear.
When receiving these gifts, many young people respond with quiet surprise: “Is this really for me?” or “I’ve never had a new pair of shoes before.” These moments are never about fault—only circumstance. They are a simple yet powerful reminder that not everyone is given the same start in life, and that small acts of care can make a lasting difference.

Everyone Deserves Dignity
Margaret* stated “this is the first time our program has been able to give something to our listeners. We often attend community events and can only give out information. This time, we were able to give them something real and important, and start a whole new conversation. We focused on people with teenage daughters and were able to give out around 10 packs to vulnerable new arrivals in our community.”
Connection, Safety and Dignity when it matters most
After fleeing violence, safety and connection are critical. Being able to provide phone access and practical support helped our clients stay connected to services, loved ones, and emergency services, giving them a greater sense of security during an incredibly vulnerable time.

Beyblades fo Dhillion
Dhillion’s face lit up the moment he received his Beyblade toys through Goods360. Before, he often felt left out when classmates talked about their favorite spinning battles, but now he proudly joins the conversations and games. The simple gift opened the door for him to connect with other kids at school and in his community, helping him feel included and confident. For Dhillion, these toys were more than fun—they were a bridge to friendship and belonging.
Peace of mind
After undergoing two knee replacements and recent gastric surgery, Barb has been navigating recovery with courage and determination. When she received adult overnight protection pads from Goods360, it brought her a quiet but powerful sense of reassurance. Knowing she has that extra support has eased her worries about getting up quickly at night while she heals.
This thoughtful gift has helped Barb rest more comfortably and focus on regaining her strength, giving her peace of mind and restoring a sense of dignity during a vulnerable time.
Teaching Financial Literacy
“The smiles and excited buzz in the Op Shop as students found the brand new Nike clothing was wonderful to experience!” Emily* (teacher and project coordinator)
“I love my new jacket…can you see the Nike tick?” Daniel* (student aged 15, living with an intellectual disability who wore his new jacket non-stop for over 3 weeks – to the point we needed to wash and dry it when he was at school as his family told us he was wearing it to bed!)

Hand creams for self care and sensory benefits
When the hand creams were received we facilitated some groups at Mackay Step Up Step Down Service about self-care and also building “toolkits” to help residents when they feel distressed. The residents are encouraged to fill the toolkit with items that uplift them and guide them through a difficult time or mood. The hand creams were very popular with both groups as the scents of the creams are beautiful and uplifting. It was lovely to see the smiles on the faces of residents who may not usually be able to afford luxurious hand creams like these.
Clients who have come to our Mackay Crisis Support Space – Safe Harbour, have also reportedly loved the hand creams as a little luxury to take with them after presenting to the service in a distressed state and will use the creams as a lovely self-care item or a sensory tool that invokes a sense of calm for the person. The scents of the cream are all beautiful and definitely have a calming effect and a positive message for maintaining self-care, even when you’re struggling.

Little Sprouts Playgroup
“Bringing my kids to playgroup has honestly been such a blessing. Seeing them laugh, explore, and use the beautiful toys donated by Hasbro means more than I can put into words. With how tough things are financially right now, we simply can’t afford toys like these at home. Watching them learn, imagine, and just be children in a space filled with kindness has been such a gift to our family.”
