The only thing holding him back from running the school cross-country was not having sneakers.
Thanks to the Nike shoes, Mark was able to lace up & participate in cross-country.

Wakefield School
Wakefield School is a SSP school. The integration of LEGO into our learning environment has significantly enhanced student engagement and collaboration. Through hands-on building activities, students have developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills while fostering creativity and innovation. Working in teams, they learn to communicate effectively, share ideas, and support one another, resulting in a positive classroom culture. As students construct and create, they not only grasp complex concepts but also gain confidence in their abilities, preparing them for future challenges. The joy of building with LEGO transforms learning into an interactive and enjoyable experience, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Kindness Often Walks Different Paths
Lions have always believed that dignity can begin with something as simple as a sturdy pair of shoes or thongs. We are noticing that many senior citizens in the community, along with people with disabilities are struggling to afford proper footwear. Some people are wearing threadbare shoes that offer no support, while other braved the footpaths in their bare feet. Without comfortable footwear, everyday activities become a painful ordeal, limiting their freedom and independence.
Essential t-shirts for young people experiencing mental illness
“It is amazing to have such a great selection of basics to give to our young people. We appreciate the extensive size range, meaning we are more inclusive to more people. Some mental health medications cause weight gain and we often don’t have the appropriate sizing to meet the needs of our young people. This recent donation provides so many options to young people.” Orygen Assist onsite volunteer
Clothing for young people
“Having access to good quality family clothing has been amazing, we are seeing lots of young people with children or parents with sometimes multiple children accessing our service and it is fantastic to have good clothing options for children, and young people, as well as adults in need” Orygen Assist onsite volunteer
Clothing for young people and families experiencing mental illness
“The staff at Big W Highpoint were so friendly and accomodating, the amount of good quality stock they donated was incredible including summer clothing, hats and swimwear, perfect for the lead-up to summer” Lauren Cockerell, Orygen Volunteer Engagement Advisor
Building community through play
“It’s a great blessing that our church has been able to provide amazing support, resources and toys to our children. High cost of living has made life difficult and being able to provide for our children has become harder. These donations make all the difference in the world. Thank you.”
Literacy challenge
This was one initiative. We ran a literacy challenge during a community event and also during lunch time in the library. Students were so excited and were keen participants. This challenge promoted literacy conversations and grammar debates between friends. The students love our library challenges and Lailah was a deserving winner. All participants also received a small Lego set for their contribution.
Sporting Equipment (Cones)
Hey, just wanted to say a big thank you for the cones! We used them heaps during our Capture the Flag games and for our SVT events out on the oval. They were honestly super helpful – we had enough to properly set up the field and separate all the teams, which made everything way more organised and fun. Everyone got really into it, and it just made the games run way smoother. – SVT members
