Inspiring Wellbeing Beyond the Classroom

The mindful activities were really well received by our students and supported them in different ways either through regulation or through providing sensory input. They also prompted positive conversations with our students about mental health and wellbeing, which is so important. Our teachers also commented on how generous the team from JMC were and were really impressed with the positive impacts this had on our students. - Mark Oliphant College Wellbeing Leader

Tell us how and to whom you distributed the goods in your community

Between March and May 2026, Good360 supplied $355,992 worth of brand-new, non-food essential goods to the City of Playford through three staged deliveries. Due to limited storage capacity, staggered deliveries enabled the Council to thoughtfully plan and distribute donations where they would have the greatest impact. While the deliveries have been completed, the benefits will continue to be felt across the community for many months.

One of the first initiatives was delivered in March 2026, when the City of Playford’s Child and Family Wellbeing Team partnered with Mark Oliphant College for its annual Reception to Year 12 Wellbeing Day, reaching more than 1,800 students.

Mark Oliphant College serves one of South Australia’s most socio-educationally disadvantaged communities. With an ICSEA score of approximately 920, almost half of all families receive School Card financial assistance. The college supports a diverse, high-needs student population, including Aboriginal students, children with disabilities, culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and young people in out-of-home care.

With the event centred on the theme of Digital Detox, Good360 products were transformed into practical wellbeing activities that encouraged students to step away from screens and reconnect with mindful, healthy pursuits. Students selected jigsaw puzzles, books, pet toys and gardening packs, promoting relaxation, time with family and pets, and connection with nature. Ahead of Mother’s Day, students also created personalised wrapping paper using donated craft supplies before choosing and wrapping a gift for a parent, carer or another significant person, reinforcing the wellbeing benefits of kindness and giving.

To extend the impact beyond the event, the team developed flyers explaining each activity and its wellbeing benefits so students and families could continue these practices at home.
The success of the initiative has inspired further community projects. The City of Playford is now planning support packs for young mothers, co-designed with its Child and Family Wellbeing Team, Early Childhood Specialists and the SA Health Midwives Network. Combining donated goods with local service information, the initiative will ensure remaining products continue to meet genuine community needs.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of the Collier Charitable Fund. Good360 is grateful to have partnered with the City of Playford to deliver an initiative that has strengthened community wellbeing while building lasting local partnerships.
