My absolute favourite part of that pack is the sleeping bag. We can sleep anywhere, we are finally warm and it has been months since we have had a decent sleep.

Hygiene 4all

Lynne said, “We work closely with community organisations to help people who are in need of hygiene products. I know many people are going without the basics in life simply because they are so expensive. The more we can share around the higher the number of people that benefit from these products.”

Supporting Bereaved Community

“Receiving these toys brought genuine joy to children and families within our bereaved and broader South Australian community. The LEGO and girls’ toys and accessories provided comfort, distraction, and moments of happiness during incredibly difficult times. For many families, these gifts were more than toys.”

Roseworthy Rewards

I was so excited to complete my goals for this week. Because I completed my goals, I could pick a prize from the prize box. I chose the fluffy ear muffs.

Principal – This is a fantastic addition to the positive behaviour recognitions that we already do. The prizes students can pick from will certainly be a great incentive for them. As the year progresses, we will work closely with the SRC leaders to further build this into our school and look at different ways we can give these products away.
Me – We have already had a couple of disadvantaged students pick something out of the prize box for working towards and achieving their goals. *For privacy and consent, I cannot post pictures. Their faces said it all when they could pick anything they liked from it. We have many opportunities for students to demonstrate positive behaviour to come and pick something from the box. We will also put together some baskets of goods for students to take home – those that are disadvantaged and support them and their families.

Thank you!!

Best foot forward

Anne* said, these shoes will be going to families who are really struggling to make ends meet. Our ladies/families would never be able to buy brand named shoes for themselves or their children. Many of our families are struggling just to feed their children and pay their bills, many of our family’s frequent food aid charities just to feed their children every day. They have no money to luxuries, especially something as expensive as Nike shoes.

perfect fit

Crystal* said we are very great full for this donation, many of our families are struggling to afford a pair of shoes for their kids to go to school in at the best of times, so been able to receive these beautiful Nike shoes is just amazing. Many of these families can’t afford xmas presents so some of these shoes will be such a surprise for many older girls who may not have received any presents.

Rewarded with Lego

“Our team is incredibly appreciative of the LEGO® donation. It has opened new, creative ways to enhance our students’ learning experiences and nurture their overall wellbeing.” Behaviour Program*

Warm Winter Long Sleeve Women’s Tops

We provided these jumpers for our families at the beginning of winter, the day I received them, I was able to provide them to straight out of the box to some of our Mum’s (they were very grateful as it was an extremely cold day) The rest we added to our stand at the front of our Children’s Centre along with second hand items.

Student Self Regulation and Interoception

“I get angry sometimes and say things to people that are mean. Now when I feel angry, I take a 10 minute break, get my Interoception tray out and quietly work on my Lego. Working on my Lego build helps me calm down because I stop thinking about other things. When I feel better, I go back into the class and do my work.” – Chris* age 9 “I don’t get into trouble so much anymore because when I feel myself getting cross, I go to Interoception and build my Lego. It helps me be calmer” – Jaxon* age 7

No Credit?  Optus SIMs supports Retirees

Heather* is an elderly volunteer and one of the many recipients of the Optus sim cards we acquired. Heather told us she was so happy to receive this sim card,(as she told us), she had been on a $15 pre-paid sim plan which she could just afford, then her service provider told her, her plan was going up to $45 a month, which she could not afford so she cancelled her plan and only had incoming calls.

Making our teens feel worthy

Imagine having to leave all your belongings behind because you have been removed from your home. The children we work with have to do this. We give them a backpack to get them through the first 24 – 48hrs of the crisis they are going through. This backpack holds their only belongings sometimes. So imagine the excitement when they open their backpacks and they see all new clothing, even better they are receiving Nike clothing. We also make sure we put some distraction items in there. So the Coca-Cola games and books do just that. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of Good360 and all the companies that support them.

Care Packing Day & Winter Boredom Buster Care Packs

Quote from our Founder, Ella Stratton – “We are so grateful for the support of the Good360 Program. For small charities like the HAS Foundation, this generosity makes it possible to provide our Care Pack Service to paediatric palliative care families. It means we can bring comfort and connection to families during some of their most difficult moments.”

Curators of Kindness

“That was the best day ever!” Student (Year 1)

“It was nice to make new friends and do something nice for them and to make them smile!” Student (Year 3)

“You have clothing in my size” (Annie* pensioner with recent issues) “I am amazed at the help you have given me” (Mary* DV victim) “These will be so helpful” (John* recently moved into a new home following a period of homelessness) *Names changed to protect privacy

Sandals for Cancer Patients

My name is Lynne Davis, and I am the Chairperson for Koala Kids Back Packs, I have recently had my own battle with breast cancer, I have had Chemotherapy and Radio therapy as treatments. One of the worst side effects of these therapies is Neuropathy which is nerve damage. This manifests in constant pins and needles in your hands and feet, it is excruciatingly painful to walk without having padded shoes or wearing 2-3 pairs of socks with your slippers. While trying to use your fingers is a bit of a pain, trying to use knives and folks is like feeding a three-year-old.
