Roseworthy Rewards

I was so excited to complete my goals for this week. Because I completed my goals, I could pick a prize from the prize box. I chose the fluffy ear muffs.

Principal - This is a fantastic addition to the positive behaviour recognitions that we already do. The prizes students can pick from will certainly be a great incentive for them. As the year progresses, we will work closely with the SRC leaders to further build this into our school and look at different ways we can give these products away.
Me - We have already had a couple of disadvantaged students pick something out of the prize box for working towards and achieving their goals. *For privacy and consent, I cannot post pictures. Their faces said it all when they could pick anything they liked from it. We have many opportunities for students to demonstrate positive behaviour to come and pick something from the box. We will also put together some baskets of goods for students to take home - those that are disadvantaged and support them and their families.

Tell us how and to whom you distributed the goods in your community

At our school, we have many different ways that students can be recognised for displaying positive behaviour. These range from: earning raffle tickets, completing class puzzles and rewards for wellbeing initiatives we offer like Friday Beats. This is where students can dance and we give our prizes for this too. Now we have these products, we can offer this to students who struggle to come to school as rewards and the more we can get, the better incentives it will be for these students. We will set up a place where students can go and pick from too. The students that have seen these, have all been so intrigued which is a great start for having these new products we can offer students.

Tell us how these goods helped your community, program or organisation

I have already answered this above but the more products we have, we will start to be deliberate with how we give these out:
– Setting up a raffle system where students earn raffle tickets and then can win a prize of goods.
– Giving out prizes at assembly for students who demonstrate good audience skills
– Create more wellbeing initiatives that support students’ wellbeing by providing hampers etc, to them.
– Set up a ‘shop’ where students can come and choose item/s that appeal to them. They earn this by demonstrating positive behaviour and this is something we can build into school routines.
We are really excited to see where this takes us and are appreciative of the opportunity we have had so far. We know that our students would love to earn some of these amazing products and they would be build into school routines and initiatives as we progress with ordering this.
