More then Clothes: A moment of care

Dave said It's been a long road, but it's the small things that keep you going and its kindness like this that reminds me I'm not alone.

Tell us how and to whom you distributed the goods in your community

When living with stage 4 bowel cancer the world can begin to feel very small. Days are measured in appointments, treatments, and quiet endurance. For Dave currently undergoing intensive cancer treatment staying warm has become more than a comfort it is a daily challenge. The treatments that are helping to fight his illness often leave his body feeling exhausted and cold even on days when the sun is shining. Long hours spent travelling to and from hospital, sitting through appointments and recovering afterwards can take a heavy toll and something as simple as warmth becomes essential. Through a small but meaningful act of kindness, warm clothing was gifted to him to provide comfort, softness, and protection from when he is feeling cold. When he received the clothing, he was deeply touched, not just by the warmth it offered, but by the care behind it. The clothing now travels with him through every stage of his treatment. It keeps him warm during hospital visits, comfortable during long waiting periods, and supported during recovery at home. Each item has become a reminder that even in the hardest seasons of life, compassion can still reach in. This simple gift has done more than provide physical warmth it has offered dignity, comfort, and reassurance during an incredibly difficult journey. It is a powerful reminder that small acts of generosity can carry immense impact, especially when someone is facing the fight of their life. Sometimes, hope doesn’t arrive in grand gestures. Sometimes, it comes wrapped in warmth.

Tell us how these goods helped your community, program or organisation

When we come together to support someone during their most vulnerable moments, it strengthens the bonds between us all. It sends a clear message that no one is invisible and no one is alone especially those walking through serious illness. These simple gestures remind our community that compassion does not always require grand resources or large-scale solutions. Sometimes, meeting a basic human need warmth, comfort, and dignity can have the greatest impact. None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for the generosity of Good360 and Nike
