Tell us how and to whom you distributed the goods in your community

The Beyblades were distributed through our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program at Karuah OSHC, a community-based service supporting primary school-aged children in a regional, low socioeconomic area. Rather than being given to individual children, the items became part of our shared play resources so all children attending the service could access and enjoy them.

Many of the children had never experienced Beyblades before, so educators introduced them gradually, helping children learn the rules, explore how they worked, and play collaboratively. What quickly followed was children teaching one another, sharing tips and strategies, taking turns, and naturally forming teams.

We saw children from different friendship groups begin playing together, including children who may not usually engage in shared play. Older children supported younger children to learn the game, while educators used the opportunity to encourage teamwork, patience, problem-solving and positive social interactions. The Beyblades quickly became a highly valued shared experience across the service.

Tell us how these goods helped your community, program or organisation

The Beyblades have had a meaningful impact on our service by supporting social connection, inclusion, confidence and learning through play. While they may appear to be simple toys, they have created opportunities for children to develop teamwork, communication, resilience and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way.

We have observed children practising turn-taking, negotiating rules, managing emotions during friendly competition, and encouraging peers during play. Children who may not usually interact have been drawn together through a shared interest, helping to strengthen friendships and foster a stronger sense of belonging within our service community.

As a service supporting families in a low socioeconomic area, access to new and engaging resources can sometimes be limited. Donations like this make a genuine difference by providing high-quality play opportunities that children may not otherwise experience. We are incredibly grateful to Good360 and donation partners for helping us create positive, inclusive and joyful experiences for the children in our care.
