Clothing for all

These clothes are going to make me feel like a new person. I am recovering from a serious health scare and now trying to get my health and life back on track and just having some new clothes will make me feel brighter and better.

I am so very grateful for the clothing support given to me today, I am going to feel like a million bucks.

I am so happy and blessed to have such caring people in my community, I am struggling to prepare for my new baby and do not have much family support around me, plus I am on limited income so I have been so worried how I am going to be ready for my new arrival.

Tell us how and to whom you distributed the goods in your community

Three local community members attended our community centre over recent weeks.

Ishmael is from CALD background, in his mid 60’s in process of getting an Australian visa, no income and recovering from serious health scare associated with his years of alcohol dependency. This client has turned a major corner into a positive direction and is now focused on become a healther version of himself and aims one day to get back to work. He is currently living in a tent and gathers bottles to support himself. During intake our team identified him as recipient for the clothing.

Sean* came to our centre seeking some support with our tech program as he needed support to apply online for a rental property. He has multiple chronic health conditions and has low technology literacy and skills. This man in mid 50’s is living on limited disability pension and paying over half his pension to rent. He cannot recall the last time he purchased himself new clothes.

Nora* came to our centre to meet with our Social Prescribing team workers seeking some guidance and support to get better prepared for the new arrival of her baby in three months time.

Tell us how these goods helped your community, program or organisation

These items have supported our Social Prescribing project and General Support system at Lockyer Community Centre. Through these items received from Good 360 we were able to help these vulnerable community members with some clothing to support them in making their daily lives better. We truly value organisations such as Good360, Best & Less and the other associated businesses that donate these goods.
